Early in his legal career David developed an abiding interest and expertise in this important aspect of representing lenders and borrowers in commercial loan transactions. Following publication of a paper on this topic, David was invited to serve on the Committee of the Real Estate, Probate and Trust Law Section of the State Bar of Texas that adopted for use in Texas the Accord-based legal opinion format, adapted for use in mortgage loan transactions. Over his legal career, David has drafted and negotiated legal opinion letters for scores of commercial transactions, especially mortgage loan transactions. This extensive experience means David can get this otherwise sometimes costly aspect of a commercial loan transaction accomplished in an uncommonly economical manner.
